CHURCHES TOGETHER IN ENGLAND

While the whole site is devoted to different aspects of the work of CTE in enabling relationship and shared work between the churches, in this area you will find material around specific work at the heart of what we are about.

The Directors are also the charity Trustees and are responsible for the appropriate management of the work and its financing.

The Enabling Group gathers together representatives of all member denominations, along with those from regional ecumenical work and the Bodies in Association. The Group shapes the priorities and direction of the work we undertake. All the work undertaken is sanctioned by the member denominations.

The Forum which takes place every three years also gathers these and wider representatives together and serves as an opportunity to celebrate all that CTE is doing and take a broader perspective.

The Co-ordinating Groups are where representatives from the denominations meet to work on issues with a particular focus. Certainly in relation to the denominations, it is in these groups that ecumenical engagement takes place.

As well as the churches, the Bodies in Association play a part in these meetings. They gather themselves twice each year to share what they are doing and identify any links that might lead to joint working.

CTE is served by four Presidents (more here) who act in a representative role giving CTE a  profile not easily gained by ecumenical organisations.
