Resources prepared by the Inter Faith Officer

These resources have been prepared by the Inter Faith officer in consultation with a small ecumenical support group. They are offered for reflection, prayer and action in the context of fuller resources on these subjects available in the Churches.

Inter Faith Contact

A bite-sized introduction to Christian principles of inter faith relations. This leaflet was written in consultation with colleagues. It is not a policy document, but an opportunity for reflection and an encouragement to Christians living in a multi faith context.

Inter Faith Resources Leaflet

The updated and revised "Inter Faith Resources" leaflet can be downloaded from the website, or ordered from Lorraine Shannon at £3.00 for 10 copies. As the content is likely to be updated every few months orders will be run off at CTE.

Christian Principles of Dialogue PowerPoint

This has evolved through presentations to various groups.  It is offered, together with the accompanying Notes, as an introduction to interreligious dialogue within the overall evangelising mission of the Church.

The Golden Rule

The Golden Rule is a maxim shared by all major religions and philosophies. Christians can speak of and put into practice the Golden Rule without betraying their faith in Jesus. Sometimes other quotations or symbols are chosen. These are used with permission.

Dos and Don'ts and Fruits of Dialogue

These are a distillation of many years' experience of Christians and of the Churches. They are not exhaustive but are helpful pointers offered for discussion relating to dialogue and mission.
