The Centre for Christianity in Interreligious Dialogue exists to advance scholarship and dialogue, through research, teaching, conferences and publications. The Centre provides a forum for the study and practice of the encounter between Christianity and the other major religious traditions. As an integral part of Heythrop College, University of London, the Centre promotes interdisciplinary, particularly theological, historical, political and pastoral approaches to the study of Christianity and interreligious dialogue.

The Centre’s role is to promote an awareness and knowledge of the importance of interreligious engagement between the world’s religious cultures and traditions.

The Centre is committed to maintaining the highest quality research and teaching on specific thematic issues in the encounter between Christianity and the other religious traditions, while also remaining concerned to address particular pastoral, social and experiential concerns by fostering the practice of interreligious dialogue.

The staff at the Centre have extensive personal experience of the religions and cultures of their scholarly expertise.
