Christian Muslim Forum: Ethical Guidelines for witness

This remarkable document was prepared by the Christian Muslim Forum, www.christianmuslimforum.org

Comment on the official launch of the text:
Anglican, Catholic and Orthodox Bishops, Imams, clergy and scholars from various Muslim and Christian traditions, interfaith practitioners, evangelists and protagonists of Muslim da’wah (mission) gathered within the hospitality of Islamic Relief (just down the road from Christian Aid) to discuss and to launch this text.
It is in itself an astonishing achievement and a witness to the growth in mutual understanding and reciprocal exchange between Christians and Muslims in this country.

The launch event included speeches by Dr Andrew Smith (Director of Scripture Union's Youth Encounter and Forum Youth specialist), Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra (Chair of the Muslim Council of Britain's Inter Faith Committee and President of the Christian Muslim Forum), Steve Bell (National Director of Interserve mission agency), Shamshad Khan (Founder-Director, Islamic Presentation Centre International). There was opportunity for discussion and debate among participants but an overwhelming consensus that something substantial and good had been achieved. This was illustrated by the input of a young woman working with young offenders who spoke of how much this would achieve in her own context.

Participants at the launch signed the guidelines and the Forum is now seeking sign-up from Christian and Muslim organisations and individuals. Please consider passing this on to those connected with dialogue and mission in your church and to any media outlets or your website.
