Offering financial support for the recovery of communities in Cumbria

The Cumbria Community Foundation is a very good partner to the faith communities in the county. They administered the recovery fund for the Carlisle floods in 2005. The Social Responsibility Forum of Churches Together in Cumbria is a close partner and will be involved in the current situation.

The Foundation have launched an appeal for the current emergency. Any contributions to the Fund can be sent to the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund.

NB: The generosity of local Cumbrians has been such that the Cockermouth emergency centre has appealed for an end to donations of blankets, clothes etc because they have more than are needed and they are piling up! The consensus seems to be that what is most needed is money for the Flood Recovery Fund.
